Hydro One Launches Consultation On New Line

Hydro One is starting to consult on a proposed 230 kilovolt transmission line between Thunder Bay, Atikokan and Dryden.

Spokesperson Jason Fitzsimmons tells us it’s a major project.

“There will have to be some upgrades at the Thunder Bay station as there will be at the McKenzie and Dryden stations to accomodate the new power supply.”

Consultations will start May 13th in Thunder Bay, with Kakabeka Falls and Ignace on May 14th, and sessions being held in Atikokan and Dryden on May 15th.

The Hydro One official tells us they have several options for routes for the line and they will be asking the public their thoughts at various consultation sessions.
