Fire Destroys Former Dryden Landmark

A one-time popular restaurant and motel in Dryden has been destroyed in an early Friday morning fire.

The Trans Canada Motel and Restaurant had been vacant for several years.

Dryden Fire Service were on scene within minutes of being called out at about 3:30 local time Friday. Oxdrift Fire Department was called out shortly afterward.

Interim Dryden Fire Chief Cora McRae described the fire as a “nasty one,” adding they expect to release more information at a later date.

She says the restaurant and motel will be total losses.

There are no reports of any injuries.
