Tbaytel Wins Spectrum Auction

There is a celebration at Tbaytel with the news it has won more space for its wireless services.

Spokesperson Simone Laatu tells us eventually the city-owned utility will be able to deliver high-speed Internet on the 5G network by 2022.

She says the cost of obtaining the spectrum in the government auction was $2.8 million.

Laatu calls that “a great buy” since the spectrum market is “very competitive” with other carriers looking acquire space on the spectrum.
