Bombardier Looking For Local Orders

The clock is ticking for the local Bombardier plant to secure new contracts since the current ones will be completed on or about the end of this year.

Company spokesperson Kaven Delarosbil tells us they are attempting to find new orders, but admits it will not be easy, especially south of the border.

He says with the local content requirement in the United States currently sitting at 65 per cent and scheduled to increase to 70 per cent in 2020, “it becomes more and more difficult to leverage our footprint for U.S. based contracts.”

The Bombardier spokesperson says they are also trying to find possible contracts in Ontario.
