Premier Doug Ford is blaming unions for today’s student walk out.
Ford thinks the students should stay in the classroom rather than skip school to protest.
“This isn’t about class sizes; this is about the union bosses telling the teachers and the students what to do.”
Students across the province walked out at 1:15 this afternoon to protest the Ford government’s changes to the education system.
Meanwhile, a huge turn out for a local protest against the Ford Government’s education policies.
St. Ignatius Grade 12 student Alexandra Grillo feels the Premier didn’t know what his decisions would mean for students.
“He needs to consider all students, students with learning disabilities and special needs. Not all students learn in the same way, so this e-learning mandatory classes and cuts to class size caps are going to have a negative impact on students. I don’t think he realizes that.”
Students from both the Catholic and Public boards rallied at our local MPP offices on Thursday.
