City Sees Reduction In Provincial Payments

Thunder Bay is going to get less funding from the provincial government this year.

The Ford government has sent out its final figures for the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund.

While some municipalities like Fort Frances, will be getting slightly more money, the City of Thunder Bay won’t be.

Mayor Bill Mauro tells us they will see their share reduced by $1.1 to $1.2 million this year.

He notes they prepared for this during the budget process and built in a $900,000 reduction so now they have to find another $200 to $300 thousand to make up the lost provincial funding.
