Government Freezes Fishing Fees

Good news if you like to fish, the Ford government is cancelling planned licence fee increases for next year.

In addition the province will be removing the $2 service fee.

Natural Resources Minister John Yakabuski says the move is being make to keep fishing licences more affordable.

In addition to freezing fees, the government is adding two new licence-free fishing events in 2019 on the weekends of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

The move, says the government, is expected to put $2.7 million dollars back into the pockets of Ontario anglers.
