Time is running out to decide whether Thunder Bay will have a physical cannabis storefront.
City Manager Norm Gale indicates councillors will have to make up their minds soon after they receive the initial report on the issue tonight.
“The province requires municipalities to decide whether to opt in or out by January 22nd, so we have the report before council the week before that.”
No decision is being made tonight.
City police have made it known they oppose a physical cannabis storefront.
The city manager adds you can still have your say with an on-line survey at the city’s website.
“There are varying views of course, this is a contentious issue. What we do is present the views of the respective departments, and divisions, and entities, in a straight up manner, and that will help council make their determination.”
