Councillor Apologizes For Rant

A new city councillor is apologizing for a rant on social media concerning the recent video showing a police officer slapping a person on a gurney.

In the tirade, Brian Hamilton said people had to relax about the video noting while the police officer crossed the line, she was facing a reprimand.

Hamilton, also used a vulgar term to explain the kind of people the officer “has to clean up all day long” and “one incident should not feed this victimhood narrative.”

In his apology the councillor admits his “post caused hurt and deepened the distrust” he says “is the shame of our city.”
