The current Commissioner of the OPP is asking for a review of the appointment of Ron Taverner as his replacement.
Brad Blair wants Ontario’s Ombudsman to look into the appointment.
In a 9-page letter to Paul Dube, Blair says the perception of political interference in the hiring is deeply affecting officer morale.
Blair’s also asking that Taverner’s take-over on December 17th be delayed until February to give time for the review.
