OPSEU Against Pot Store Funding

The president of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union calls it a laughable bribe.

The provincial government is making 40-million dollars available to municipalities to offset the costs associated with legalized marijuana.

Warren ‘Smokey’ Thomas says it’s a puny payout considering the increased costs municipalities will have to bear for things like policing and public health.

Thomas is encouraging councils to opt-out of private cannabis stores and call for a plan overseen by the LCBO instead.
