No Issues With Emergency Alert: Tbaytel

Thanks to some pre-planning, an emergency alert test for local smartphones was a success according to one official.

The test was sent out to smartphones and wireless devices.

Tbaytel’s Katie Crowe notes after last springs glitches, the company made sure to run its own testing internally to make sure it was ready.

She says the issues that plagued the system in May were varied depending on the provider and other factors.

The alert system, also heard on radio and TV, is designed to be used for Amber Alerts and regional emergencies.
