Don’t be alarmed when your smartphone sounds out a loud notice this afternoon at 1:55.
Katie Crowe of Tbaytel says it’s the national test of the emergency alerting system.
At the prescribed time, if your software is up to date, you will receive an audible sound on your wireless device.
The alert will also be heard on 99.9 The Bay and over your TV.
You’ll recall the smartphone test back in May did not go well and not everyone received the notice because of technical issues.
It’s for that reason the CRTC asked that wireless devices be included in this regularly scheduled testing.
