A new Police Services Board will be appointed some time in December.
Chair Jackie Dojack tells us their term ends November 30th.
“The new board will be appointed, a number of new members appointed December 4th by the new council and their meeting will be later in December.”
The outgoing board chair tells us they expect Mayor Elect Bill Mauro to take a seat on the board, there’s another council position available, a citizen appointee, and a provincial appointee vacancy.
Dojack tells us before she was a member of the board, she didn’t know very much about the local service.
“A highlight for me has been getting to know so many members of the police service. I’ve really come to appreciate the work they do to make our community safe.”
Dojack is keeping mum on whether or not she has applied to return to the next term of the police service board.
