Fundraiser Gets Boost From Police Board

The Police Service Board is donating a thousand dollars towards a fundraiser for Constable Craig Town.

Town was paralyzed from the neck down after being shot by a prisoner at the Balmoral Street police headquarters in September of 1991.

Police Association President Greg Stephenson tells us money is going towards buying a van.

“I had a conversation with Craig’s nurse, and I think he’s getting fitted in the next couple of weeks to find out what kind of van he is getting.”

So far the Police Association has raised almost $50,000.
