Planning Board Creates Inclusion Guide

A local business and labour think-tank is out with a new guide for area employers who hire Indigenous workers and do business with them.

Madge Richardson of the North Superior Workforce Planning Board explains it’s a policy which outlines how to deal with First Nation communities in the hiring process.

She says it allows the executive director in a business or organization to have a policy which “provides guidance with some of those decisions.”

The Planning Board official adds the guide can act as a human resources tool for employers.

Richardson believes the guide makes a statement that the board is committed to inclusion.
