Woman Faces Charges In Trillium Way Fire Death

A 48-year-old Thunder Bay woman remains in custody after a court appearance in connection with the townhouse fire on Trillium Way.

Tracey Claudette Mawakeesic is charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Death and Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm.

The fire early Monday morning, claimed the life of 30-year-old Kyle Malcolm Stoney and send a 23-year-old woman to the hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Police are awaiting the results of the postmortem as well as the results of the Fire Marshall’s examination.

This investigation is ongoing.
