99.9 The Bay Competes In Charity Plane Pull

A charity plane pull in support of the United Way is taking place at the airport this morning.

Organizer Erika Mikkola tells us 15 teams, including a group from Acadia Broadcasting, are taking part at the event being held at the Wasaya Hangar.

She explains the teams of six to eight people who race to pull a plane weighing over 26,000 lbs a total distance of 50 feet in the shortest time possible.

Groups have raised donations for the United Way’s 2018 campaign.

Mikkola tells us prizes are being awarded for the top fundraising team, individual and most spirited team among others.

You can also take part in a 50/50 draw and golf putting contest at the event.
