The president of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce is dubbing a national chamber event in the city a success.
Charla Robinson calls it an “immensely successful weekend” with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce conference going off with a hitch.
She says the 350 delegates told her they were happy with the reception shown in the city along with the local hospitality.
The chamber president says there were 60 resolutions passed at the event and the local chamber had two of its own policy resolutions recognized.
One dealt with immigration, and it asked for changes to the rules to make it easier to recruit immigrants to work in low skilled jobs in small communities.
The other resolution involved proposed changes to how many hours crews of airlines are supposed to work.
Among other concerns about the changes, the local chamber feels it would threaten service to remote northern communities.
