The Philadelphia Flyers have unveiled a new mascot ahead of the regular season kicking off, and it’s got people talking online. Introducing “Gritty”! According to the team, “Legend has it he earned the name “Gritty” for possessing an attitude so similar to the team he follows.” As you would probably expect, Twitter is having a field day, with some claiming that “Gritty” is the most terrifying mascot in the NHL. Others are wondering if his father is “Animal” from “The Muppets”. I kind of like him. He’s big, bearded and burly. Now that I’m writing this out, it’s kind of like looking in the mirror. Sorry, I hate to cut this short, but I need to run out and buy all the orange hair/beard dye I can find!
