LU Researcher To Help Mining Companies Save Money

A Lakehead University researcher has the backing of several mining companies as he studies ways to help them save on exploration costs.

Peter Hollings will be looking at new ways to ensure companies have made a worthwhile mineral discovery.

Hollings is hopeful his study will help reduce the amount of drilling companies have to prove a mineral find is worth digging up.

The $2.5 million study is expected to take three years to complete.

The LU professor explains the funding will allow the research to take place in Canada, South America, Sweden and Australia.
