PC House Leader Quiet On Possible Sanctions For Teaching 2015 Curriculum

A showdown appears to be brewing between teachers and the Ford government.

Two teachers’ unions says they’ll stand by their members if they decide to continue using the 2015 health and sex education curriculum when they go back to the classrooms next month.

Government House Leader Todd Smith expects teachers will be professional.

“They understand the situation that we’re facing in the province right now, that we have to have this consultation,” Smith emphasizes. “There will be a new health and physical education curriculum coming in the very near future.”

Smith would not say what sanctions teachers will face if they use the curriculum the government has repealed.
