Clinic Strike Drags On

There appears to be no immediate end in sight to the strike by support staff at the Port Arthur Health Centre.

Union spokesperson Lori Salmi tells us that no talks are planned in an effort to reach a contract settlement.

She tells us management hasn’t come back with anything since a forced vote on April 22nd.

The 65 employees have been walking the picket line since April 9th.

Meantime there may be more hard feelings between union and clinic management.

Salmi indicates management apparently complained to police about how picketers have treated clinic patients who want to drive into the parking lot. (Staff photo)
