Second Degree Murder Charge Withdrawn

A 23 year old woman who has spent several months in jail has had a second degree murder charge withdrawn.

Jessie Chapais was charged in the July 2017 death of Kevin Roundhead.

Prosecutor Rob Kozak told court that she cooperated with police and told the truth. Kozak added that she was present at Roundhead’s death but not involved.

Lawyers representing Skylar and Emma Massakeyash who are also charged in Roundhead’s death are hoping to come back to the judge tomorrow with a potential resolution.

Both face a charge of second degree murder.

The body of the deceased 31 year old was found near McVicar Creek last summer. (File photo)
