Colder And More Snow Than Average In April

It’s no surprise to anyone that April was colder than it normally is, but it wasn’t a record.

Etienne Gregoire of Environment Canada tells us it hasn’t been this cold in April for close to 70 years.

The average temperature for last month was -.06 and the all time record was -2.2 in 1950.

The meteorologist adds that April was a dry month in which we only got half the precipitation we normally get.

Gregoire notes we received 19 centimetres of snow last month, about 7 centimetres above the average, but there was virtually no rain when we normally see about 30 millimetres. (Stock photo)
