Over 20 Dogs Heading South To New Homes

More than 20 dogs and puppies from a remote northern community are on their way to southern Ontario to find new homes.

The OSPCA says the dogs arrived in Thunder Bay for a medical check-up last night.

Their next destination is the Humane Society in North Bay, and officials say from there the dogs will be taken to the Peterborough Humane Society in southern Ontario.

OSPCA officials explain that the move is part of their Year of the Northern Dog campaign, which tries to raise awareness of dog overpopulation and lack of services in northern and remote communities. (Photo Supplied)
