Three northern communities, including Thunder Bay, have been asked to accept evacuees.
A state of emergency has been declared in the northern First Nation of Kashechewan, and that means many residents will have to be flown out as a precaution.
The residents are scheduled to be sent to Kapuskasing, Timmins and Thunder Bay.
Evacuees are expected to arrived in our city no sooner than Saturday.
