The NDP are offering some promises specific to northern Ontario in their election platform.
It includes the creation of a provincial forest strategy to protect the long term sustainability of the forests and a billion dollars on the developing the Ring of Fire.
Leader Andrea Horwath says they also want to help existing businesses become more competitive.
“Everything to ensure we have better broadband service to expansion of natural gas,” Horwath explains, “In fact, when it comes to broadband. we’re prepared to invest a billion dollars over 10 years.”
