Lyrid Meteor Shower Visible On International Astronomy Day

The Fort William Historical Park’s Observatory is marking International Astronomy Day.

Spokesperson David Shepherd tells us this weekend you can see one of the oldest known meteor showers, the Lyrid shower.

You’ll be able to see around 20 to 30 meteors an hour in the night sky.

He notes you can also spot Venus in the sky right before sunset.

Shepherd says you can visit the observatory and their astronomers will tell you what you can see in the night sky this weekend. (File Photo)
