Local festival volunteers and organizers are going to get trained in a new sexual assault prevention program.
Crime Prevention Council Coordinator Lee-Ann Chevrette says they’ll learn how to identify the signs that someone is getting unwanted attention.
“They can take the training, so they have the skills to be on site during those events. If they see something happening that looks like it could be the early stages of a sexual violence incident, they can intervene safely.”
Training will take place this Thursday and another two sessions are planned in May.
