It’s tax season, and that brings with it scams.
Fraudsters have been claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency threatening residents that they would face arrest if they didn’t pay off their outstanding debt.
Here in Thunder Bay, someone believed the scam artist and bought up a large amount of pre-paid credit cards to settle their alleged debt.
City Police say the victim lost the money they spent on the cards once they handed over their numbers to the fraudster. (File Photo)
