You have a chance to taste beer that was once enjoyed in Tuscany, Italy around 800 BC.
Lakehead University is bringing in an expert on ancient brews as part of their Research and Innovation week celebrations.
Chemist Patrick McGovern says they learned the recipe by analyzing ancient drinking glasses.
“Especially pottery, because liquids get absorbed into pottery,” McGovern explains, adding they used chloroform and methanol to recover traces of the beverages the glasses once held.
