Thunder Bay police say murder suspect Charles Norman Casmey has surrendered peacefully.
It followed a standoff tonight on the 500 block of McTavish Street which police say lasted about two hours, ending shortly after 9 pm.
The 31 year old Casmey had been wanted on a Canada wide warrant in connection with the death this week of a 63 year old man on McLaughlin Street as well as the assault on a 25 year old woman.
During the standoff, residents in the immediate area were evacuated from their homes while police spoke to Casmey on a bullhorn urging him to give himself up.
