Lull In Budget Ahead Of Election Next Year

Not a lot of bells and whistles in the Liberal government’s third budget.

That’s according to Bruce Ball who is with Canada’s Professional Accountants, who says it’s the lull before the election season next year.

“There wasn’t a lot of large changes, there were a couple of things we were expecting to see which were in there but beyond that I don’t know if there was a lot of new material yesterday, I guess that makes some sense with next year being the election.”

Ball adds there was no path to a balanced budget and he would have liked to see more discipline around expenditures.
