Lynx Spotted Near Expressway

A lynx has once again been spotted in Thunder Bay.

Tammy, an eyewitness who didn’t wish to give her last name, tells us she saw the animal around three o’clock Saturday afternoon while driving onto the Expressway at Balsam Street.

She says it appeared to be heading off the highway towards Arundel Street.

Tammy notes “I know there’s a big concern” for parents and pet owners after a lynx was seen in the Marina Park area this past Monday.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says lynx are known to live in the Thunder Bay District.

Ministry officials recommend calling city police if you feel a wild animal is a danger to public safety. (File Photo, courtesy Brittney St. Amand)
