It appears there’s a logical explanation to the Amazon.ca packages the student union at Lakehead University has been mysteriously receiving since November.
LU’s Farhan Yousef tells us the RCMP helped to clear up the confusion.
He notes the police conducted an invesigation and Amazon confirmed the packages were being sent through merchants without any cost.
Students unions across the country were getting similar packages, Yousef believes, in an apparent attempt at creating a false sense of sales for its online site.
Yousef explains they were worried someone may have hacked into their credit card account and made the purchases.
He indicates they will auction off the items, from record players to headphones, and donate the money to the student food bank.
