City Looks At Trimming Budget For 2017

The city is looking at a reduction of $1.8-million in the budget for 2017.

However, this does mean an increase in the overall tax levy.

Councilor Andrew Foulds says there is a difference between a tax increase, which affects individual homeowners, and an overall tax levy increase.

A levy increase is an overall rise in cost for services.

Foulds says it’s still too early to tell what, if any, increases to the individual homeowner rate there will be as a result.
