The City needs at least 5 million dollars to get the multi-million dollar event and convention centre shovel ready once again.
The centre was denied federal funding in previous years and Mayor Keith Hobbs recently met with the new Infrastructure and Communities Minister.
Hobbs won’t give up on the potential legacy project and notes they’ve been at this since 2009.
He adds it’s been seven years and those who said they should wait ten years before building the event centre will get their wish since it’s going to take over that amount of time to get it built.
