The city is experimenting with green bike lanes.
Active Transportation Co-ordinator Adam Krupper says they’re trying it out on Vickers Street at Victoria and Miles. He says they’re doing it to make the lanes more visible and to reduce confusion and conflict between motorists and cyclists.
There’s also another objective: to see how the paint holds up to winter wear. He says the lanes in Ottawa and Montreal have held up to five years of their snowy weather.
Overall, Krupper expects the pilot project to be a positive experience. (Photos suopplied)
