Yesterday we reported about a partially submerged canoe that had been found in Wild Goose Bay, with some camping gear in it.
Emergency crews spent the morning and afternoon searching the lake until they found a man that was associated with the canoe, he was safe.
Upon further investigation, police have charged that 27-year old from Winnipeg with break and enter and theft.
Thunder Bay OPP say he had broken into a building in Shuniah, and stole a canoe from a local residence. He was transported to the Thunder Bay jail.
