$16.5 million dollars are going to Thunder Bay schools, as part of Ontario’s $1.1 billion dollar commitment to renewing school buildings.

On top of funding previously earmarked for the area’s school boards, Thunder Bay schools are receiving a total of just over $42 million for infrastructure repairs and improvements.

The province is handing out the funding over the next two years. The investment is part of the provincial government’s 12-year, $160 billion infrastructure plan.
