Family of Sick Infant Hopes For Help

It’s the kind of medical situation no parent wants to be involved with.

Thunder Bay’s Brett Howas-Martial is in southern Ontario with his newborn son as the boy gets hospital tests that involve a blood clot to the brain.

Howas-Martial says the family has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House in London for seven weeks. He says without any sort of prognosis on when his condition will stabilize, it’s difficult to say how much longer they’ll have to stay.

Howas-Martial says he’s a self employed businessperson and therefore can’t collect employment insurance and so they’ve taken to crowdfunding on the Internet. He says while they’ve already exceeded their $5,000 fundraising goal, they could use some extra help.
