700 municipal employees are going to vote on the city’s latest contract offer on Friday. That vote happens between 7 am and 7 pm at CUPE Local 87’s office on Roland Street.
Prior to that the offer will be explained to the members at two meetings tomorrow and Thursday. The first gathering is happening at the Solvak Legion on Atlanic Avenue.
If the contract is turned down it will pave the way for a strike at 12:01 am on Monday.
Because both sides have agreed not to speak to the media during the process, it’s not known if the union is recommending the members accept the offer.
