Eric Staal is on the move.
The Carolina Hurricanes traded its captain to the New York Rangers on Sunday, a day before the deadline.
The Thunder Bay NHLer has spent his entire 12-year career with the Hurricanes. He leaves behind brother Jordan Staal in Carolina, but will join his younger brother Marc Staal, who plays defence for the Rangers.
Multiple reports say Carolina will retain 50 per cent of Staal’s multi-million dollar salary.
