As expected, the new Trudeau government is bringing back the mandatory long form census.
It was scrapped by the Harper Conservatives citing privacy concerns, but researchers in the country pushed back saying it would deprive them of critical information they required to do their jobs.
During the election campaign the reinstatement of the long form census became top promise of the Liberals.
