Lowe’s is confirming that it’ll be locating a store at the Intercity Shopping Centre.
The home improvement giant says Thunder Bay is one of 12 stores the company is opening across Canada as part of its acquisition of former Target stores.
Spokesperson Sandy Indig admits a mall location is unusual for the company and says it would only be the second such placement in Canada, since the store in Sault Ste. Marie is at a mall as well.
Indig says 130 new jobs will be created in the city as a result of the move.
No opening date has been announced.
