No new forest fires in the region yesterday, but the Ministry of Natural Resources says it is laying charges in connection to a camp fire being left unattended in the Kenora District. The Ministry says it has charged an un-named individual.

The maximum fine is a thousand dollars and could also include three months jail time. The MNR says in cases were a fire escapes and becomes a wildfire, the cost of putting the fire out can be added to the penalty.
