Hobbs To Ask For Government Help

The city is hoping for a government lifeline to rescue it from a multi million dollar hole.

That’s the amount of money the city is stuck with paying after a tax reassessment of the Resolute mill.

Mayor Keith Hobbs says he’ll ask the Wynne government for its help in paying that bill and plans to make the request at next months Ontario municipalities conference. He believes it’s only fair the province help our cause saying it’s “their nightmare.”

Hobbs notes that several other communities in similar circumstances received government help including Dryden and Espanola. (File Photo)
