A Thunder Bay woman is circulating an online petition to keep the Port Arthur Service Ontario location open.
Alynne Harel is out with a change.org petition asking Thunder Bay Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle to to keep the office in County Fair open.
Harel says that the province has told the staff at the office that they’ll close their doors permanently in November.
Meanwhile, a government spokesperson says the County Fair office was run by a private service provider whose contract expires in the fall and that’s why the office will close.
The government says they’ll be looking for a new service provider for the north side of the City.
