City To Explore Cycling Opportunities

Look for more expanded bike lanes in the city now that the province is promising more money for such projects.

The Wynne government is promising $25 million for cycling opportunities in Ontario over the next three years.

Transportation Coordinator Adam Krupper says the province is promising $10 million will go to municipalities to expand existing bicycle trails or launch their own pilot projects.

Krupper says he’ll be looking to improve safety by constructing barriers on some roads to separate cyclists from motorists.

Krupper says they’d also like to create better connections between the road and off road trail network.
